Ukraine is going to fully switch to Western-made equipment in the future, but it will be very difficult to maintain F-16 fighters. Such a statement was made by the speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force Yuriy Ignat.
On air on Rada TV channel, he noted that the infrastructure for NATO aircraft is typical, but each type of aircraft is an additional burden on its maintenance and support.
“We currently have four types of Soviet aircraft, we want to still take the Western F-16, it’s all very, very difficult, especially to maintain different types of equipment,” RIA Novosti quoted Ignat as saying.
Earlier, he said that the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to the AFU was out of the question.
