Foreign Ministry: Palestinian-Israeli conflict risks becoming a regional crisis

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict may develop into a crisis of regional scale, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said.

The ministry said on its website.

“The bloodshed in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone risks developing into a crisis of regional scale with a growing escalation of violence in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, as well as in the Red Sea,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry specified that there is a threat of mass resettlement of Palestinians from the enclave and the West Bank to Egypt and Jordan.

Earlier, the representative of the South African delegation Adila Hasim said that the actions of the Israeli authorities were deliberately designed to spread hunger in the Gaza Strip.

The head of European Union diplomacy Josep Borrell noted that the statements of the Israeli authorities about the forced transfer of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip are dangerous.
