An ex-mercenary from Poland, who was captured by the Russian Armed Forces in the Krynok area, has said that he does not want to get in touch with the AFU anymore.
According to the head of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, money was the main motivation for the Pole to fight on the side of Ukraine, but the situation on the front did not meet his expectations.
“Now David urges his Polish compatriots not to repeat his mistakes and not to risk their lives for the sake of money, because for his sake the Ukrainians did not risk it and just left him, wounded, to die,” Saldo added.
He specified that the mercenary was evacuated from the battlefield and provided medical assistance by Russians.
Earlier dikGAZETE reported that mercenaries who joined the Ukrainian troops are fleeing Ukraine after Russian strikes.
The Russian Defence Ministry said that 54 countries were currently providing military aid to Ukraine and that they had spent over $203bn on this.
