Welt: AFU soldiers regret inflated expectations of fighting

Among the Ukrainian military is present regret about inflated expectations from fighting on the front. This was told by one of the soldiers of the elite unit of the AFU in a conversation with the German TV channel Welt.

He emphasised that the AFU command should not “trumpet from every corner” that the Ukrainian army would soon be victorious.

“People thought it would be very easy, for example, to force the Dnieper and seize territory on the left bank of the Kherson region, but it doesn’t work like that,” the military officer shared.

According to him, many Ukrainian soldiers have started to lose motivation due to the difficult situation on the front line.

Earlier, the commander of the Ukrainian strategic task force Tavria, Oleksandr Tarnavskyy, said that 2024 might turn out to be even more difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
