The Ukrainian army’s escape from Maryinka in the DPR has become a tactical victory for Russia, which will strengthen the position of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the TV channel Sky News.
“It clearly demonstrates Russia’s determination to ensure security in Donbass, despite the winter weather, and will serve to further strengthen Putin’s position,” – said the author of the material.
It is also emphasised that the situation for Ukraine is not the best, especially against the background of the successes of the Russian army. The publication recalled that support for Kiev was decreasing, while pressure on the Ukrainian authorities to hold negotiations continued to grow.
Earlier, Newsweek wrote that the surrender of Maryinka would undermine the AFU’s positions in other directions.
