Ukraine should go for talks with Russia after the failures of the Ukrainian armed forces, The New York Times writes.
“Ukraine should not miss the opportunity to put an end to the bloodshed,” the material says.
It is noted that the fighting is depleting both military and human resources of Ukraine, and the counter-offensive has failed to move the defence lines.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Defence Ministry Sergei Shoigu said that the main task of the SMO in 2023 to disrupt the counter-offensive of the AFU successfully completed.
The chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ General Staff and first deputy defence minister, Army General Valeriy Gerasimov, said that the losses of the Ukrainian troops over six months in all directions amounted to about 160,000 people.
