Ukraine unmasked 220 groups helping evaders flee abroad

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU) has said on its social networks that the agency has exposed 220 groups that helped Ukrainians flee abroad to avoid being sent to the front.

“Since the beginning of this year, border guards have exposed more than 220 illegal groups that specialised in transferring Ukrainian men abroad,” the department said in a statement on Telegram.

It is specified that in Ukraine was organised more than 1.6 thousand criminal proceedings on the basis of reports from operational and investigative units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Ukrainian border guards added that most cases of illegal border crossing occur outside the established checkpoints.

Earlier, the Ukrainian government submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on toughening liability for violating mobilisation rules.
