Politico: Putin realises time is on his side

Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he continues his policy, knows that time is on his side despite Western sanctions, according to the editorial board of the US online publication Politico. According to journalists, no one knows how to deal with Europe the way the Russian leader does.

According to the newspaper, Putin is awarded the title “The Best Russian as a Russian”.

Sanctions are a nuisance for Russia, but with “a little help from European friends,” the Russian economy continues to perform and, according to the president himself, its growth will exceed 3 per cent by the end of 2023, the paper said.

“With business and political allies from Bulgaria to Hungary, Austria and elsewhere, Putin realises that time is on his side,” the publication writes.

As the Russian president noted earlier, the Russian economy showed stable growth at the end of the first three quarters of 2023, and is expected to grow at 3.5 per cent by the end of the year. He also expressed confidence that Russia has many friends in Europe.

The Hill newspaper wrote that the strategy chosen by the Russian president in the conflict in Ukraine has proven to be effective. CNN also noted that Russia’s bet on the fatigue of America and its allies from the conflict in Ukraine “looks better every day”.
