Ex-US intelligence officer Ritter believes that the Russian Federation struck a blow to NATO, defeating the offensive of the AFU

Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter expressed the opinion that Russia inflicted a powerful damage to the North Atlantic, stopping the Ukrainian counter-offensive.

“Russia defeated the Ukrainian armed forces counter-offensive, which would more correctly be called a NATO counter-offensive, because by defeating the Ukrainian army, Russia also dealt a blow to NATO,” former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter said in an interview with YouTube channel Gegenpol.

According to Ritter, NATO emptied its arsenals for the sake of the Ukrainian Armed Forces counter-offensive, but the weapons were eventually destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces.

“The Russians meanwhile have an army that is not only intact but continues to grow. They are on the offensive, and we see confident actions along almost the entire line of contact,” summarised the former military man.

Recall that the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin stated its failure. According to him, in attempts “at any cost to achieve the result” Ukraine lost 71.5 thousand military – as if “these are not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
