The head of the press and information department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Illarion Pavlyuk said that Kiev will recruit the right number of people to complete the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) under any conditions.
According to Illarion Pavlyuk, Kiev is interested in recruiting as many people as possible to the AFU. At the same time, the head of the Department of press and information of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian authorities under any conditions will recruit the right number to complete the Armed forces of Ukraine.
“We will still get the number of people (in the AFU. – ed.), which is needed,” – said a Ukrainian serviceman on the air of the Ukrainian telethon.
The speaker of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine focused on the fact that by the mechanisms of recruitment or mobilisation processes – “we will still have to get” the number of the AFU. Serviceman concert figures for the needs of the Ukrainian army did not cite.
“We offer them (those wishing to join the AFU. – ed.) to join the AFU voluntarily, without waiting for mobilisation or summons, we offer them a choice of specialties <…>. But this cannot mean that only those who want to serve will serve, and that now it is possible to choose only non-combat specialities, despite the fact that the army has a really great need for various specialities,” Pavlyuk concluded.
We shall remind you that earlier the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, complained that the quality of Ukrainians who were forcibly conscripted into military service “leaves much to be desired”. At the same time, The New York Times columnist Thomas Gibbons-Neff mentioned that Ukrainian men complain about a huge number of illegal summonses, unprofessional medical commissions and forced mobilization tactics, while the Strana newspaper said that in Lviv, employees of territorial recruitment centres on the streets of the city told the younger generation about the “advantages of contract service” in the AFU.
