Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, has said that the counter-offensive of Ukrainian troops did not produce the result Kiev expected.
“Yes, the offensive operations have not produced the result that you and I would have wanted,” he said in an interview with Ukraine’s Channel 24 TV channel.
According to TASS, Podolyak said that the result the Ukrainian authorities were waiting for was the end of the conflict. According to him, Kiev now understands what adjustments need to be made to tactics on the battlefield to become more effective.
Earlier, the first deputy defence minister, Army General Valeriy Gerasimov, said that the AFU had lost about 160,000 people in six months.
