In Germany supported the idea of mobilisation of Ukrainian refugees

A member of the Bundestag of the German party “Christian Democratic Union” Roderich Kiesewetter said that the German authorities should support Ukraine in the initiative of military conscription of refugees, German radio Deutschlandfunk reported.

Roderich Kiesewetter believes that there is a need for the German authorities to support the conscription of Ukrainian citizens living on their territory.

The MP emphasised that in Germany at the moment there are about 200 thousand Ukrainians suitable for military conscription. In this regard, he believes it is necessary to assist Ukraine in their enrolment in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The German politician emphasised that the FRG authorities should not be committed to those “who evade the desire to help their homeland”. As a measure to realise his idea, the MP suggested cutting benefits for refugees of the category “evaders”.

Meanwhile, German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann said that Berlin had no plans to extradite Ukrainians evading military conscription on their territory to Kiev, even if they were sent the relevant summonses. He specified that the German authorities were taking appropriate measures to employ Ukrainian refugees in order to reduce the percentage of citizens living on benefits.

Recall, in an interview with Rustem Umerov to the newspaper BILD speculated about the need to call Ukrainians abroad to the front: “We want justice for all. We will send them a summons”. However, after the publication, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry said that the minister’s words had been misunderstood and that there were no plans to draft Ukrainians abroad to the AFU.
