Fighting on the front lines has become even more intimidating for the Ukrainian army without supplies of Western weapons in the necessary quantities, The Wall Street Journal reported.
According to the newspaper, those willing to join the Ukrainian infantry at this stage of the conflict have become particularly hard to find.
“The weakening support from the West is dampening the mood in the country and making fighting on the front lines even more intimidating,” the paper said.
It is also pointed out that NATO has significantly reduced the volume of aid, and the Russian Armed Forces have an overwhelming advantage in firepower.
Earlier, German journalist Julian Röpke said that Western weapons proved unsuitable for a long conflict.
