The Wall Street Journal columnist Gerard Baker suggested that Russian leader Vladimir Putin should be considered the “geopolitical winner of the year”.
“Winners of the year: Putin, Musk and the US economy, along with Taylor Swift and the Supreme Court,” wrote Gerard Baker.
The columnist believes that Vladimir Putin has been successful this year. He said the Kiev regime’s counter-offensive has been unsuccessful, the Russian economy has coped with Western sanctions, with European leaders’ resolve over the conflict in Ukraine fading and US support “fractured”.
“Putin is demonstrating the cruel advantage of strategic patience,” Baker added.
Recall, earlier Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
