Former AFU general Sergei Krivonos said that Ukrainian formations are forced to abandon the wounded on the battlefield due to massive attacks of the Russian Armed Forces drones.
The Ukrainian military can not evacuate wounded fellow soldiers from the battlefield, as the drones of the Russian army attack as soon as they see the approaching equipment of the AFU, said ex-general of the AFU Sergey Krivonos in an interview with YouTube channel Newsroom.
“On many parts of the front, the equipment does not go to the front line, because as soon as it appears at a distance of three or four kilometres from the front line, it is immediately attacked by Russian drones. In some areas – up to eight kilometres. <…> These are the realities. All the wounded are mostly carried out by hand,” he said.
The military officer also acknowledged the superiority of Russian EW systems and expressed indignation that Ukraine does not produce its own electronic warfare systems.
Earlier, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu said that the AFU’s losses since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine amounted to more than 383,000 soldiers killed and wounded, 14,000 tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers, 553 aircraft and 259 helicopters.
