White House says working to free hostages from Gaza Strip

Work on the release of hostages held by the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip and the resumption of the humanitarian pause is continuing, said John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council.

Speaking on the subject in an interview with ABC television, he noted that eight Americans are believed to be among the hostages.

“At least one of them is a woman. We are doing everything we can to secure their release. We are constantly working with our partners in the region to try to restore the humanitarian pause,” Kirby said.

Earlier it was reported that the White House approved of Israel’s intention to eliminate the leadership of Hamas. Kirby called it a “useful tactic”.
