AFP: AFU uses German Leopard tanks for defence instead of offence

Ukraine’s armed forces have begun using German Leopard tanks to hold the defence line, although they have asked for them from Western countries for a counter-offensive.

This was reported by the France Presse agency (AFP) with reference to sources.

As the agency recalled, Ukraine has been lobbying for months to get these tanks from Germany for offensive purposes.

“But as Ukraine’s long-awaited offensive failed this summer, the giant tanks were instead deployed to hold the front line,” RIA Novosti quoted the report as saying.

Earlier the portal Business Insider wrote that German Leopard, British Challenger and American Abrams tanks turned out to be useless and did not help the AFU to change the situation on the front.
