Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Dutch presidential candidate Geert Wilders will not allow Ukraine to join the EU, the British magazine The Economist has reported. This was reported by the British magazine The Economist.
The magazine said that Kiev should not expect a good outcome in 2023. The publication noted that Viktor Orbán and newcomer Geert Wilders oppose Ukraine’s accession to the EU and also obstruct their financing.
“Alas, 2023 is unlikely to end on an optimistic note. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is particularly grumpy and testy today, and very soon he may get a new right-wing ally, as Dutchman Geert Wilders won the election on 22 November,” the article says.
The magazine writes that Kiev may face financial difficulties already in early 2024, and in the absence of sending funds to Ukraine, the EU may lose their former trust.
Earlier, Reuters sources reported that the EU initiative to allocate military aid to the Kiev regime is encountering growing resistance from the countries of the association. Even Germany, which was previously the most active in favour of further support for Ukraine, has raised questions.
