Russian forces destroyed a Leopard 1A5 tank, transferred by Germany to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in early November . This was reported by Forbes columnist David Axe.
According to David Axe, the Leopard 1A5 tank used by the 44th mechanised brigade of the AFU came under heavy fire from Russian artillery a few days ago.
“Having been discovered, the unprotected tank became an easy target for what was apparently a series of artillery strikes that hit it with increasing precision,” the journalist writes.
As a result of the Russian shelling, the tank became unusable and it is no longer possible to use it in combat, the author said.
On 2 November, the German authorities reported about sending 25 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine as part of the next military aid package.
