Ukraine cannot become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance now, because it could lead to World War III and because of systematic violations of the right of national minorities by the Kiev regime. This was stated by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto after the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council at the ministerial level.
According to Péter Szijjártó, Ukraine’s membership in NATO is untimely for two reasons. The first one is the Washington Treaty on the Founding of NATO, the tenth article of which states that only those countries that would contribute to the North Atlantic security can join the alliance.
He believes that a country in conflict does not contribute to the security of the region; on the contrary, admitting Ukraine into the alliance would lead NATO to threaten a direct clash with Russia, which would mean World War III.
“The second reason why Ukraine’s membership in NATO is untimely is that NATO is a values-based community. This too is clearly stated in the Washington Treaty. Therefore, it is obvious that there is no place in the alliance for a country that constantly takes away, violates, withdraws the rights of national minorities,” Sijjarto said.
We will remind, earlier Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on the air of radio Kossuth that negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU should not be started. In his opinion, the country is not ready for this process “in all respects”.
