Kiev says there is a severe shortage of personnel in Ukraine’s army

An adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Serhiy Leshchenko, has admitted a shortage of servicemen in the Ukrainian army. According to his estimates, “the deficit is enormous”.

“There is a huge deficit of military personnel, we need to carry out rotations and pull up reserves,” he said, his words quoted by Ukrainian news service TSN.

Leshchenko said that a storm trooper at the age of 54 “cannot go on an assault.”

The head of the Sumy regional military administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, earlier said that the implementation of the mobilisation plan in the AFU had failed – it had been fulfilled by only 8 per cent over the past three months.
