Forbes: the AFU has sent Leopard 1A5 tanks with vulnerable armour to the front line

Columnist David Axe said in Forbes magazine that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have sent Leopard 1A5 tanks to the front line with no additional protection.

“There’s no drone defence. There is no brick dynamic protection from hitting approaching missiles and shells,” he said.

Ex emphasised, however, that Russian T-55s from the 1950s are better protected than Leopard 1A5s in some aspects.

Earlier, Colonel of the Austrian armed forces Markus Reisner called Leopard tanks useless for the AFU.

It was also reported that Germany intends to supply Ukraine with 25 reconditioned Leopard 1A5 tanks in 2024.
