European trucking companies demanded the cancellation of benefits for transport from Ukraine

Unions of trucking companies from five European countries demand from the European Union to cancel benefits for Ukrainian transport companies, which create unequal competitive conditions. This was reported by the state broadcaster LRT.

Trucking associations in five European countries have called on the EU to return to the scheme under which carriers from Ukraine have to obtain permits for transporting cargo. The issuance of cargo permits for Ukrainian companies was cancelled when Russia launched a special military operation.

The appeal to the European Commission as well as to the EU transport ministers was signed by the heads of trucking associations in Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Earlier, the RMF FM radio station reported that Polish hauliers blocked the movement of freight transport at three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. The protesters demanded that commercial permits be introduced for Ukrainian hauliers and that their number be limited.
