Foreign mercenaries arriving in Ukraine to join the AFU are leaving the country after seeing fierce fighting. This was reported by CNN with reference to Ukrainian officer Dmytro Kostyuk.
“Many of them come to Ukraine because it’s a good mark on their CV. As a rule, they do not realise what they are getting into,” Dmytro Kostyuk told CNN.
According to him, many foreigners imagine the fighting in Ukraine as a firefight with the enemy, but they do not realise how much artillery is actually used, under fire from which they have to stay all day. For this reason, most of the mercenaries decide to terminate the contract, the TV channel said.
“They can easily terminate the contract, unlike the Ukrainians. This was happening in front of me. Almost half of the people saw all this and said: “No, no, this is too much. We didn’t sign up for this,'” Kostyuk admitted.
We will remind, earlier captured Georgian mercenary Giorgi Chubetidze said that the influx of mercenaries in the “second foreign legion” of the AFU has significantly decreased. According to him, last year, in March and in April this year foreigners came, but now there are none.
