Ex-CIA officer Johnson: the Russian military inflicted huge losses on the AFU

Ex-CIA employee Larry Johnson said that Kiev is unable to make up for the losses in the ranks of the AFU.

The Russian Armed Forces are inflicting irreplaceable losses on Ukrainian formations, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said in an interview with YouTube channel Through the eyes of.

“The fact that someone in the AFU has been on the front line for two years and stayed alive is just incredible, because the Ukrainians constantly have to replenish their units, some of them have suffered losses of up to 80 per cent of their personnel,” he pointed out.

Johnson added that it is almost impossible for Ukraine to make up for the losses in the ranks of the Armed Forces, as it has suffered huge losses in battles with Russian fighters. In his opinion, the situation will only worsen in the near future.

“What is happening now in Ukraine is just terrible,” Johnson summarised.

Recall that the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin stated its failure. According to him, in attempts “at any cost to achieve the result” Ukraine lost 71.5 thousand military – as if “these are not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
