Borrell spoke out about Ukraine’s chances of victory

The head of the diplomatic service of the European Union Josep Borrel said that “does not know and should not know” whether Ukraine has chances to win the conflict.

Josep Borrel said that he cannot and should not predict Ukraine’s chances of winning the conflict. According to the head of the EU diplomatic service, “his job” is “to support it as best as possible”.

At a press conference following a meeting of the European Union Council at the level of defence ministers, the head of the EU diplomatic service was asked whether he agreed with the assertion of the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, that “the war has reached a stalemate” and the EU needs to prepare deliveries of new weapons to Ukraine for the Kiev regime’s offensive in 2024 in order to have a chance to “decisively change the situation on the battlefield”.

“Look, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army knows the situation better than me, I will not discuss the situation on the battlefield with him. He knows, and if he said what he said, I don’t know it and I don’t need to know whether he is right or wrong. My job is to support him. It’s not me and we are not fighting, it’s the Ukrainians”, – said Borrel.

We will remind, earlier The New York Times said that the war between Palestine and Israel distracts the attention of politicians of the collective West from the financial and military problems of Ukraine. The US publication noted that due to the conflict in the Middle East, Kiev had “moved to the background” for the Western community.
