The process of training servicemen of the air forces of Ukraine to pilot American-made F-16 fighters in Romania has not started. This was stated by the official representative of the air forces of the AFU, Colonel Yuri Ignat, refuting earlier information about the beginning of training of pilots, which appeared in the media.
According to Yuri Ignat, the construction of the future centre for training military pilots has just begun on the territory of Romania. Ignat noted that the foundations are only poured there now.
On the territory of the centre there is a runway, which can be used for training flights, but no training of Ukrainian pilots is conducted there, explained the official representative of the air forces of the AFU.
“Sometimes the statements of our Western partners need to be looked at from a different angle. The Netherlands handed over five aircraft as they are transitioning to the F-35. F-16 they transferred to Romania, the first batch to the future centre that is being built, so far there is no talk of training Ukrainian pilots there. It’s not going to happen right now, as the media write. They write that our falcons have already flown. Fool dumkoi riches”, – said Ignat.
