Hürriyet: Blinken in Turkey said the US is putting everyone in a difficult position

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that the US is putting everyone in a difficult position with its position on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This is reported by the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet.

According to the newspaper, during the meeting on 6 November, Fidan conveyed to his American counterpart Turkey’s position that Israel was committing crimes against humanity by bombing the Gaza Strip.

Fidan, according to the newspaper, told Blinken that there was “outrage” in the region.

“You are also jeopardising your image because you are seen as a patron of the crimes committed by Israel,” the paper quoted a statement attributed to the Turkish side as saying.

As Sabah newspaper previously reported, Anthony Blinken tried to hug Hakan Fidan during the greeting, but the latter took a step back.

According to the Turkish press, Fidan did so because of the impoliteness of the American diplomat before him.
