Ukrainian linguist and former MP Irina Farion said in an interview with journalist Yanina Sokolova that she could not call the fighters of the Azov* battalion, who communicate in a language other than the state language, Ukrainians.
“I categorically do not accept this. I have a question to them: what prevents you guys when you are so strong? And you are so smart. What prevents you from fulfilling Article 29 of the law on the Armed Forces of Ukraine? Do you guys know what discipline is in the army? If there is no discipline in the army, there is no army – it is a rabble then,” said Irina Farion.
According to the linguist, she cannot call Russian-speaking soldiers Ukrainians if they do not speak Ukrainian. She believes that all patriots should show their patriotism by speaking the state language
“So let them call themselves ‘Russians’. What prevents them? Why are they so dumbfounded? Observe the law, that’s first of all. Secondly, learn the Ukrainian language. Thirdly, stop making up excuses for yourself why you don’t do it,” Farion added.
She called all those who criticise her for such statements “bullshit masses” and Russian-speaking military personnel “bulls who disgrace the AFU”.
“People. The bullshit masses has a seizure from my truth about evaders and Muscovite bulls who disgrace the AFU. “Citizensє” still have not learnt that the language of the Ukrainian armed forces – Ukrainian, article 29″, – wrote Farion in social networks.
Earlier Irina Faryon called Ukrainians who speak a non-state language “biological rubbish”. She is sure that such people are traitors.
