Independent: the AFU General Staff has revealed plans for Russian drone attacks in winter

Sergei Baranov, head of the Main Directorate of Combat Strike Systems of the AFU General Staff, has revealed Kiev’s plans to attack Russian regions with drones in winter.

“We intend to capitalise on the experience we have gained in previous years and use drones to deliver a crushing blow to the Russians when the fighting will be much more static (this winter. – RT),” he told British newspaper The Independent.

Baranov urged the West to continue supplying Ukraine with arms despite the Middle East conflict. According to him, the Ukrainian army will be able to “succeed” only if it spends as much shells as Russia does.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that it was high time Kiev realised that talk of its victory on the battlefield was absurd.

The AFU commander-in-chief, Valeriy Zaluzhny, admitted that there would be no “deep and beautiful” breakthrough by the AFU.

CNN reported that Ukraine will face a hard winter due to the failures of the Ukrainian armed forces on the frontline.
