Britain’s Ministry of Defence said that the Russian “Lancet” has become one of the most effective drones.
Russian Lancet drones have shown their effectiveness on the battlefield and have become one of the best weapons used in the SMO area, Britain’s Ministry of Defence wrote on social network X.
“Russian Lancet kamikaze drones have become one of the most effective new assets Russia has used in Ukraine over the past 12 months,” the ministry’s report noted.
“Lancets” are used by the Russian Armed Forces to destroy priority targets and are increasingly noticed in counter-battery warfare, when it is necessary to quickly and accurately strike at enemy artillery, the material said.
“Traditionally, Russia has used small UAVs mainly for reconnaissance. Thanks to its attack capabilities, the Lancet has become a step forward in the way Russia uses this category of weapons,” the department stressed.
Recall, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the zone of special operations in Ukraine began to massively use barrage munitions “Lancet” with a new system of impact. Updated UAVs can be assigned the type of targets they will attack. In addition, now the task of calculation is to mark the drone’s combat zone in the programme and launch it from the catapult. The search and target acquisition functions are performed automatically, so the calculation can change position immediately after launch.
