Forbes: Kiev has lost a fifth of its Leopard 2s due to Russian strikes

Russian servicemen have taken out of service a fifth part of German-made Leopard 2 tanks handed over to the AFU, according to Forbes publication.

The author of the material emphasised that the Russian Armed Forces use the Kornet anti-tank missile system, which easily penetrates the vehicles, to destroy Western combat vehicles.

“Even the Swedish tank Strv 122, one of the most protected in the world, can’t just swing away from the Kornet,” the publication noted.

The article cited the example of the 21st brigade of the AFU, which lost all Strv 122 and was left with only one tank company instead of three.

Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry said that the Ukrainian military had lost up to 220 troops and a Leopard tank in the Zaporizhzhya direction.
