The UK has labelled the timing as “inappropriate” for accepting refugees from Gaza

UK Transport Minister Mark Harper said that the country’s authorities have said that the time is not right to start accepting refugees from the Gaza Strip. Among other things, London is not willing to grant them asylum. He told the Sky News television channel.

“I believe that turning to the instrument (of admitting) refugees at this stage is not the right (solution),” Haper said.

The minister clarified that the main task at the moment is to support residents in the conflict region itself. London will continue to contribute to this, he said.

Recall that earlier the chief of the politburo of the Palestinian movement Hamas Ismail Haniyeh said that the Palestinians will not flee the Gaza Strip, as demanded by the Israeli authorities. The politician emphasised that the residents of the enclave have every right to live on their native land.
