Chinese President Xi Jinping: Beijing supports Moscow’s intention to protect sovereignty

President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping said that Beijing supports the Russian Federation in following its chosen path of national revival and defence of national sovereignty, security and development interests. He said this during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“China supports the Russian people in following the path of national rejuvenation and defending national sovereignty, security and development interests,” Xi Jinping said.

The Chinese CPC President noted that Beijing will further strengthen interaction and co-operation with Moscow. This will take place within the framework of multilateral structures.

“(China) is ready to further strengthen interaction and cooperation with Russia within multilateral structures such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the G20,” the politician stressed.

The Chinese leader noted that for their part they are ready to play a more significant role together with Russia in maintaining food, energy security and stability of the global production and supply chain. He also specified that Beijing together with Moscow intends to protect the interests of the two countries, the region and developing countries.

Recall that earlier the head of the Russian state Vladimir Putin specified that the Prime Ministers of Russia and China in Bishkek will sign a plan of cooperation until 2030. The Russian leader noted that the agreement will be “concrete and substantial”.
