The US does not intend to use its army to intervene in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, but does not rule out the possibility of using its troops to free American hostages in the Gaza Strip, White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said.
“There are no plans or intentions to send our troops to participate in the conflict between Israel and Hamas,” RIA Novosti quoted Kirby as saying on Fox News television.
He noted that he does not rule out any options for action in the issue of the recovery of US citizens.
Earlier, spokeswoman for the Russian Embassy in Israel Marina Ryazanova said that at least one Russian, who also has Israeli citizenship, is on the list of Hamas hostages in the Gaza Strip.
