The head of the Pentagon said that the F-16s will appear in the AFU no earlier than spring 2024

US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has said that F-16 fighter jets will appear in the Ukrainian army no earlier than spring 2024.

He said this during a press conference in Brussels after a meeting of the contact group on arms supplies to the AFU.

Austin recalled that a coalition is currently working to train Ukrainian pilots.

“At the earliest next spring we will be able to see the initial readiness,” he said.

Earlier, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Cro said that the issue of deliveries of Belgian F-16s to Ukraine will be decided no earlier than 2025.

In her turn, the head of the Dutch Defence Ministry, Kajsa Ollongren, said that deliveries of F-16s to Ukraine might be carried out in 2024.
