The West will regret not heeding Putin’s warning about Ukraine – The American Conservative

Western politicians did not hear the words of Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the inadmissibility of Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the expansion of the alliance, and now will regret it. This is written by the American magazine The American Conservative.

“The West cynically treated the Minsk agreements, concluded to resolve the conflict, as a way to buy time rather than a solution to restore peace. Western leaders accused Moscow of violating the agreement, which, as they now admit, they themselves violated and never intended to honour,” TAS writes.

According to the publication, the US and Europe must now prioritise strategies to end the conflict.

“The Biden administration should inform Kiev that it will not support the desire of the AFU to seize Donbass and Crimea. And it will not provide weapons for strikes against Russia,” the magazine notes.

Washington and its allies irresponsibly helped create the circumstances that gave rise to the conflict, and their reckless behaviour condemned tens of thousands of Ukrainians to death, TAS concludes.
