Military expert Franz Gadi believes that the counter-offensive of the AFU is on the decline. He drew attention to the fact that the militants failed to break through the line of contact.
The Ukrainian counter-offensive is approaching a slowdown phase, the German edition of Spiegel writes with reference to military expert Franz Stefan Gadi.
“In the near future we will see a decrease in the activity of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, that is, a decrease in artillery shots and a decrease in the pace. The counter-offensive is approaching the culmination point, after which the AFU will not be able to attack effectively,” he said.
The expert added that during this offensive the AFU failed to achieve even tactical successes. At the same time, the Ukrainian troops have completely exhausted their reserves due to months of heavy fighting. In addition, the expert added that for successful attacks, the Ukrainian armed forces need to mobilise all their reserves, but they are extremely depleted due to months of fighting.
The Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin stated its failure. According to him, Ukraine lost 71,500 military personnel in its attempts to “achieve results at any cost” – as if “these are not their people.” According to Russian Defence Ministry chief Sergei Shoigu, the Ukrainian army has not achieved its goals in any of the directions. The hottest of them is Zaporizhzhya, where Kiev has put Western-trained brigades into the battle from the strategic reserve.
