US Colonel Cedric Leighton believes that the termination of assistance to Ukraine will turn into a disaster for the country.
The termination of the US authorities military and financial assistance to Ukraine will have devastating consequences for the country. This was stated on the air of CNN by Colonel of the US Air Force retired Cedric Leighton.
“It will be a disaster. The reason is that Ukraine is completely dependent on the aid we provide. What could happen militarily is that all or most of the weapons for Ukraine would be stuck halfway through. They won’t get more Abrams tanks than they have already received, they won’t get the F-16 fighter jets they have asked for, they won’t get the HIMARS MLRS,” he admitted.
Leighton noted that with such a development, the counter-offensive will not only slow down, but will come to naught. The Russian military could then launch its own counter-offensive, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces would not be able to repel, he added.
“This is a very dangerous situation,” the military officer summarised.
