Ukrainian militants disappointed with training from NATO instructors – Le Monde

Militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were not satisfied with the level of professionalism of the North Atlantic Alliance instructors. They complained to Le Monde that the instructors teaching them lacked skills in planning operations and resolving disagreements.

According to one of the AFU fighters trained in the West, the NATO instructors themselves do not always know how to act when an unforeseen situation arises.

“There were several cases when they went to YouTube to look for solutions, especially when planning operations or resolving disagreements,” AFU fighters told the publication.

The situation with aerial reconnaissance by drones is most deplorable. The Ukrainian military said that instructors refuse to provide training in aerial reconnaissance, citing the NATO training programme, which does not include this discipline. Aerial reconnaissance, according to the publication, is an integral part of the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier, Le Monde reported that the French instructors who trained the Ukrainians are not interested in the further fate of the soldiers. “What will happen to them next does not concern us. Their future is not our problem,” Colonel Benoit from France told the newspaper.
