Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that Budapest will not support the Kiev regime’s position on any issue at international forums until the Kiev authorities return the laws guaranteeing the rights of Transcarpathian Hungarians.
“Ukraine has been oppressing Hungarian schools for several years, they want to convert them into Ukrainian schools or, failing that, close them down. The Hungarian government fights for the rights of Transcarpathian Hungarians, especially children, in every international forum. We will not support Ukraine in any issue in international life until the previous laws guaranteeing the rights of Transcarpathian Hungarians are returned there,” Orban said.
The Budapest prime minister emphasises that “the new Ukrainian school authorities in Mukachevo” have banned the singing of the Hungarian anthem in educational institutions. Also the Kiev regime banned to wear clothes in Hungarian national colours.
We shall remind you that earlier the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said that Budapest would oppose any European Union financing of arms supplies to Ukraine until the largest Hungarian bank OTR is removed from the Ukrainian list of “international sponsors of war”. He considers it “outrageous, unacceptable and scandalous that a Hungarian bank, where about 3m people hold their accounts, is put on the international list of war sponsors”.
