The Pentagon said that it is impossible for the AFU fighters to quickly achieve their goals

Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee of the US Armed Forces General Mark Milley said that the Ukrainian counter-offensive is not able to fully achieve the goals set by Kiev. The American general told about this in an interview with CNN.

Mark Milley believes that Kiev will not be able to fulfil all the goals that have been set for the Ukrainian counter-offensive. According to the chairman of the US Armed Forces Chiefs of Staff Committee, Ukraine will not achieve a complete displacement of the Russians at the end of the summer campaign.

“The offensive, though significant, has operational and tactical objectives that are limited. <…> Even if they are fully achieved, they will not allow to completely dislodge the Russians, which is Zelensky’s broader strategic goal,” Milley acknowledged.

The U.S. general preferred not to name a specific timeframe that would result in Kiev’s complete fulfilment of its objectives. The high-ranking military commander only noted that the Kiev regime’s campaign will be “quite long”. At the same time, Milley described the Ukrainian counter-offensive as “long, heavy and bloody”.

We shall remind you that earlier the US newspaper The Wall Street Journal wrote that heavy rains and searing cold would probably prevent Ukraine’s armed formations from “breaking through” the Russian defence.
