The Slovak government has announced that the ban on imports of Ukrainian grain to the republic will remain in place until the end of the year.
“The Slovak government has extended the ban on imports of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine until the end of this year,” the cabinet said.
The ministry argues that Bratislava supports the Kiev regime and can ensure the transit of Ukrainian goods to third countries through solidarity corridors.
“During this ban, we will cooperate with the European Commission and Member States, as well as with our partners from Ukraine to find a pan-European systemic solution that will allow the cancellation of unilateral bans”, – noted in a statement of the government.
We shall remind you that on Friday the European Commission said that it would not extend restrictions on imports of four agricultural products from Ukraine to some border countries of the Union. At the same time, the EC obliged the Kiev authorities to introduce measures to control exports. The Slovak Agriculture Ministry said that the country would extend the ban unilaterally.
