Russia has increased its use of self-detonating attack drones and precision-guided aerial bombs, The Washington Post reported.
Moscow has taken advantage of its superiority in the air and made it even more difficult for the AFU to counterattack.
Aerial bombs are a particular problem, said Oleksiy Melnyk, a military expert from the Razumkov Centre in Kiev. They are difficult to intercept because of their heavy iron construction – air defence missiles are designed to hit thinner targets. The number of aerial bombs is also a problem for the AFU – their stockpiles in Russia are “practically unlimited”.
