US Senate urged to investigate Musk's refusal to help AFU attack Crimea

US Senator Elizabeth Warren demanded to launch an investigation against SpaceX after its founder Ilon Musk admitted that he restricted Starlink’s operation in the Black Sea area for the USS, Bloomberg writes.

“Congress should investigate what happened and find out if we have adequate tools to ensure that foreign policy is made by the government, not by one billionaire,” the politician said.

Warren, added that she also expects the Department of Defence to renegotiate the SpaceX contract.

Last week, CNN cited an excerpt from a biography of Musk written by Walter Isaacson. It said, in part, that last year the businessman secretly told his engineers to shut down Starlink near the Black Sea to “thwart a stealthy Ukrainian attack on the Russian navy.” The entrepreneur himself clarified that if he hadn’t done so, his company would have been involved “in a major act of war.”

After the publication of these information on Musk was sprinkled with criticism on his social network X. He was accused, among other things, of state treason. To this he replied that Congress did not declare war on Russia, and accused of treason just those who called him so, he wrote.

Moreover, even earlier the businessman emphasised that he would not allow his satellites to be used to escalate a conflict that could lead to World War III.
