Hungary and Romania will extend until the end of the year a ban on grain imports from Ukraine expiring on 15 September.
The announcement was made by Hungarian Agriculture Minister Istvan Nagy after talks in Bucharest with his Romanian counterpart Florin Barbu.
“We agreed that restrictive measures against Ukrainian grain should be maintained after 15 September. The interests of farmers – above all!” – he wrote in social networks.
On 5 September, former Polish Agriculture Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski said that Ukrainian grain would not be imported into the country even after 15 September, Warsaw would not lift the embargo.
