US Armed Forces General Milley: the AFU has 30 days for an active counteroffensive

General of the US Armed Forces Mark Milley believes that Ukraine has 30-45 days for an active counter-offensive. He noted that after the onset of cold weather it will be much slower for Ukrainian troops to manoeuvre.

The hot phase of the counter-offensive of the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) has about 30-45 days left, then the offensive will be hindered by weather conditions. This was stated by the head of the US Chiefs of Staff Committee Mark Milley in an interview with the BBC.

“There’s still plenty of time left, probably about 30-45 days to bad weather, so the Ukrainians are not done yet,” the general said.

In his opinion, the cold weather will make it much more difficult for Ukraine to manoeuvre. In addition, he admitted that the offensive was slower than expected.

More than three months have passed since the start of the Ukrainian counter-offensive. During this time, Kiev has not achieved significant results. At the same time, the AFU has suffered huge losses. According to the latest data from the Russian Defence Ministry, the Ukrainian forces have lost 66,000 servicemen and about 7.6 thousand weapons since the beginning of the offensive.
