Ukrainian army units are suffering heavy losses in military equipment during the counter-offensive. This was reported by the Royal United Defence Studies Institute (RUSI).
The institute’s report said that “unacceptable” weapons losses were caused by the AFU’s efforts to quickly break through the Russian forces’ defences.
“It is crucial to ensure that the Ukrainian fleet of armoured cross-country vehicles is restored, repaired and kept operational,” the document said.
The Ukrainian army’s counter-offensive began on 4 June, but the enemy has not been successful at any of the battlefields, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted.
According to US journalist Seymour Hersh, the CIA warned Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that the Ukrainian counter-offensive would not succeed.
