Ukrainian soldiers complained to Kyiv Independent about serious problems with military training and the difficult situation at the front.
“From lower ranks to commanders, they lack combat experience as well. <…> NATO officers (instructing the AFU) do not understand the real situation on the ground that, Western interpreters often do not have a narrowly focused military vocabulary and cannot convey precise commands or instructors’ answers,” the publication listed the soldiers’ complaints.
According to the Ukrainian military, Russian Armed Forces units operating in the Kharkiv direction have impressive combat experience and are well armed.
“It’s not like you read in daily briefings and in the news,” said Sergeant Volodymyr, who was in the epicentre of the fighting.
Demoralised Ukrainians are gradually ceasing to see sense in the continuation of meaningless battles, the author stressed.
“Is it a heroic feat to jump out of the basement and aimlessly shoot towards the Russians, and then be left without an arm and a leg or just die? What’s the point?” – questioned the military man.
