Borrell: EU has not agreed a new tranche from the peace fund for military supplies for the AFU

The EU has failed to unblock a new tranche from the European Peace Fund for arms supplies for Ukraine, the EU authorities hope that it will be possible to do it next week. This was stated by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrel.

“Unfortunately, the new tranche is still blocked,” he told a press conference after an informal meeting of foreign ministers of the 27 EU countries in the Spanish city of Toledo, he was quoted as saying by TASS.

Earlier, Borrel proposed to create a fund for military assistance to Ukraine from 2024 to 2027.

In July, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Hungary was against additional EU funding for arms deliveries to Ukraine.
